The Astoria Riverfront Trolley regular 2025 regular season will commence  Spring Break on March 22, 2025, and will end on October 31, 2025. running from 1pm to 4pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and 11am to 5pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  Trolley will not run on Wednesdays except special runs.  The Trolley does not operate during inclement weather conditions (snow and rain).

Volunteer

You can be a Astoria Riverfront Trolley Conductor or Motorman. All volunteers learn the Conductor's duties. Those who wish to operate the Trolley undergo additional training and certification. Volunteers work one or more three-hour shifts per month. RTA is a non-profit. All income is generated through fares, donations, advertising, and merchandise sales. The unpaid Volunteers who operate the Trolley make Old 300 possible, serving as Motormen and Conductors. Some of these same people perform maintenance to keep the trolley safe and working properly. The Operations and Safety Committee is composed of volunteers who are voted on for a three-year term at the yearly Banquet. This body meets monthly and addresses issues on trolley operation, safe practices, finances, personnel concerns, training, special events, promotion, and many other facets of the organization. Members are encouraged to attend these meetings to voice their ideas and concerns. .

Organizational Structure

Motorman Qualifications

In addition to the qualifications for the Conductor, the Motorman must: Be 18 years of age; Have a valid U.S. Drivers license; Be a certified ART Motorman; Demonstrate good judgment and the ability to resolve unexpected situations. Conductor Qualifications Must be physically capable of quickly using the entrance/exit steps to assist passengers; Be able to hear the signal bell, main bell and outside vehicle horns; Have adequate vision to become a second set of eyes for the Motorman; Have a friendly demeanor and enjoy dealing with the public
